Hi Everyone. I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that has recently had some photos lifted from their profile on here. The reason for my inquiry is that a good friend of mine has had pictures lifted and they were sent to someone else. That personbrought the profile owner nice glossy prints of the pics that had been lifted from the site....

I thought this site was secure for pics, but now am wondering. If pics end up in the wrong hands...WW3 may erupt in some cases.

I look forward to hearing from others if this has happened to them either here in the forum or by email to my account.

I have a fair bit of knowledge about how Internet traffic works and I can tell you that real image security is pretty much impossible.  If your browser can display it, it's not hard for even a novice "hacker" to save and keep files.

NW has done an ok job of simple and obvious things, like disabling right-click save.  But, IMO, that really only serves as a reminder to those of us without evil intentions who might momentarily forget that privacy is an issue.  Someone who wants to get around it will find a way.

The best thing is to keep faces out of pics, and avoid easily recognizable personal or private locations (the backgrounds of the pics).  Of course, the very safest thing to do is to not post pics at all.  But that's no fun!!  : )
